four years from retirement as a requirement. I'm musing on the adventures the Mrs and I will pursue... of course we'll still have a teenager to raise. And decisions will be due on plans for Son the Elder's adult living arrangements.
We spend too much time chatting without any decisions being made --- but it's early, we've time.
One of the benefits to homeschooling Son the Younger - we can travel when other folks are in school. This will allow some of our adventures to pursue info on prospective homes for Son the Elder. We can also visit Nat'l Parks when the crowds are low, along with the usual tourist traps - Disney, Universal, etc. We expect to visit the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village next year - the history fits the young man's studies.
What does this jibbering have to with anything? Ah, well - musing is the start of planning. Much must be planned! Son the Elder won't be making his own, that's on us. Son the Younger is young enough that he's part of "retirement". I am determined to have fun with it -- though trying times are certain (there's that theology of the cross showing).
It is likely that a cross country move will be part of these changes - to meet the needs of Son the Elder. Heck (that's for you maw), might as well make it an adventure!
